Citizens Cemetery Cleanup

Beyond Housing staff participated in a community effort to begin much overdue maintenance and upkeep of Citizens Cemetery in Bristol, VA on May 2, 2025. This is a huge undertaking and will require many more days of scheduled cleanup for volunteers. The next two planned days of work are May 24 and June 7 with work beginning at 8:00 a.m. until 12 noon. The Beyond Housing Choice Neighborhoods Planning Grant Team members are encouraged to participate and can get more information by contacting Pete Stigers, Development Manager at pstigers@beyondhsg.com.

Reverend Jacqueline L. Nophlin is leading the organization of the effort on behalf of the Bristol Citizens Cemetery Organization as a Trustee and as President. Rev. Nophlin says the group intends to "provide the best care for those who may have been overlooked and neglected for many years." Please contact Rev. Nophlin for further information about donations.
